The round was led by Harel Insurance Investments & Financial Services Ltd., and Shoni Top Ventures, L.P. AISAP’s POCAD solution provides AI-powered diagnoses that are accurate and easy to understand for physicians. The company claims its solution can provide a full analysis and diagnosis in as little as 5 minutes. AISAP’s algorithms have been trained on more than 300,000 studies made up of more than 24 million video clips.

AISAP, led by Adiel Am-Shalom, is developing an AI-based solution to streamline and make more accessible the performance of echocardiograms. The solution allows doctors to perform ultrasound scans of the heart themselves, without the need for an echo lab or an expert to interpret the results. The system has been used at Sheba Hospital, where about 2,400 patients were scanned in the last six months. The results show that in 53% of cases a problem requiring intervention was identified, and in about half of the cases the clinical diagnosis changed following the echo test.

Israeli startup uses AI to help doctors image and diagnose cardiac issues in minutes
Physician-entrepreneurs at Sheba Medical Center have developed AISAP, a product that uses AI to diagnose cardiac problems. The product, which can be used by all doctors, not just cardiologists, requires a handheld ultrasound probe and a digital tablet. The AI-driven diagnosis can be made on the spot, potentially saving lives. The product is designed to evaluate the quality of images from two required scan points and interpret information about eight critical heart functions. The images are sent to the secure AISAP cloud-based platform for analysis and the results are sent back to the tablet almost immediately.
