Medtronic to market Alpha Omega neurosurgery system
Alpha Omega has signed a cooperation agreement with Medtronic, an international medical device company. The deal will generate millions of dollars in revenue for Alpha Omega and involves synergy between the two companies. Medtronic is the worlds most prominent marketer of intra-brain stimulation systems, while Alpha Omegas system guides these electrodes to their location. This agreement is similar to the partnership between Medtronic and Mazor Robotics, which eventually led to Medtronic acquiring Mazor. Alpha Omegas products have not been sold as part of a treatment package marketed by large companies before. Medtronic has been growing through acquisitions and has a market cap of $114 billion. Medtronic has been active in acquiring companies in Israel, including Odin Medical Technologies, Given Imaging, Ventor Technologies, superDimension, Visionsense, Orbotech, and Mazor.
