BBT Announces Management Buyout From Beeper
Be Broadband Technologies (BBT.live) Ltd. has completed a management buyout, becoming a majority employee-owned company. The group of investors was led by Moshe Levinson, former executive VP at Beeper Communications. This follows last years spinoff by Beeper Communications Israel of its software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) technologies and operations to BBT. BBT.live is entering the market as a provider of advanced SD-WAN wireless technology solutions, serving a significant customer base in the wireless SD-WAN platform and edge networking markets.

Beeper Communications Selects Simlat's Mission Support Platform
Beeper Communications has selected Simlat to design the mission support systems and software for its Unmanned Search and Rescue System project. The project aims to fill in capability gaps for First Responders and develop autonomous Search and Rescue robots. Simlat will provide the M3-SAR aspects for the team, including smart algorithms and Artificial Intelligence. The successful completion of this project will provide a wireless broadband infrastructure for the exchange of media-rich information between First Responder teams and autonomous robots. The companies expect to begin their first technical integration and deployments by December 2018.

IDF unveils missile alert system for homes
The Home Front Command in Israel, in collaboration with Beeper Communications Israel, has developed a new missile warning system that will provide real-time warnings to the public. The system features a private home siren that will alert residents to quickly take cover or enter their protected area. The home warning kit will be available for sale to the general public in a few months. The defense establishment has learned that not everyone hears the sirens spread around the outskirts of cities, especially when windows are closed and air conditioning systems are operating. The new system aims to address this issue and improve warning accuracy. The Home Front Command is also considering developing personalized warnings in the future.
