China's Sanan Optoelectronics in Talks to Buy Israeli Communication Chips Company ColorChip
Chinas Sanan Optoelectronics is in talks to acquire ColorChip Ltd., an Israeli communication chips company, for around $300 million. ColorChip designs and manufactures communication components for telecom providers and data centers. The acquisition is expected to be conducted through a Sanan Group affiliated private equity fund called An Xin Capital LLP. ColorChip has raised $112 million in total equity to date, with investors including Israel Growth Partners, Vintage Investment Partners, and Gemini Israel Ventures. The company currently employs around 200 people and counts Facebook as one of its clients.

ColorChip raises an extra $17m, boosting latest financing round to $37m
ColorChip Ltd, an optical transceiver firm based in Israel, has raised an additional $17m in its latest financing round, bringing the total to $37m. The round was led by venture capital firm CIRTech fund and Scale-Up fund. The company, founded in 2001, provides dense, hyper-scale high-speed optical transceivers for telecom/datacom markets and planar lightwave circuit (PLC) optical splitters for FTTx markets. Israeli start-up ColorChip has completed a $6.5 million seed stage financing round led by EuroFund Partners 2000. The companys value after the round was $17 million.
