American drone maker AeroVironment is leading negotiations in a deal valuing Controp at up to $1 billion.
Rafael is in advanced negotiations to sell 50% of its shares in its subsidiary, Controp, with the deal valuing Controp at $600–700 million. The sale is led by Rothschild & Co., with AeroVironment, a U.S.-based defense company, as the leading contender. The sale aims to remove Controp from state ownership constraints, enhancing its operational flexibility. Controp, known for developing electro-optical systems, reported record revenues of $150 million in 2024. The company is also preparing to float its subsidiary, MicroCon Vision Ltd., on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Controp is currently without a permanent CEO following Hagay Azanis resignation. The sale is part of Rafaels broader strategy to find a partner for Controp and reduce its stake to 50%.

CONTROP Creates Joint Venture with India's Paras
CONTROP has entered into a joint venture with Indian company Paras Defence and Space Technologies. The joint venture aims to procure innovative EO/IR solutions for defence applications in accordance with the Indian governments Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. CONTROP is participating in high-volume tenders in the Indian defence market and the joint venture will facilitate local manufacturing and implementation of these projects. The JV will benefit from Paras customer access and presence in Indias defence market. CONTROP expects its subsidiaries to expand their business as a result of this activity.

Israel's Controp to supply electro-optics for Vietnamese border guard
Israeli company Controp has been selected by Vietnam to supply surveillance and observation systems for new ships built in Vietnam and India. The deal is for the iSea-25HD, a lightweight electro-optic unit, and a total of 12 ships will be outfitted with the system. Seven ships will be built locally in Vietnam, while the rest will be built in India. The iSea-25HD allows ships to see small crafts and fishing boats up to 10 kilometers away and larger ships up to 20 kilometers away. The system also includes a laser range finder. Controp specializes in lightweight electro-optics and has been an active supplier for Vietnam for several years.
