LG has acquired 64% of cybersecurity for vehicles company Cybellum Technologies for $140 million, valuing Cybellum at $220 million. Israeli zero-day security firm Cybellum has discovered a 15-year-old code injection vulnerability that could allow attackers to take over antivirus programmes and other software by abusing Microsofts Windows Application Verifier debugging tool. The exploit, named DoubleAgent, only works if the attacked computer has already been compromised, but can escalate the severity of a previous breach. The vulnerability exists in all versions of Microsofts operating system from Windows XP through to the latest release of Windows 10.
