Mastercard buys Israeli AI co Dynamic Yield from McDonald's
MasterCard has acquired Israeli AI company Dynamic Yield from McDonalds for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition is expected to close in the first half of 2022. Dynamic Yield provides personalized product recommendations and content based on various factors using advanced AI technology. McDonalds had originally planned to spin off Dynamic Yield but decided to sell it to MasterCard. The fast food giant claims that integrating Dynamic Yields technology into its order system for drive-thru outlets has doubled its sales. After the acquisition, CTO Ori Bauer will become the CEO, while current CEO Liad Agmon will stay on in an advisory capacity.

Cosmetics saw a 29% increase in revenue per user for those who purchased items discovered through a personalized listing page. The solution is part of Dynamic Yields adaptive AI system and is gradually being rolled out to customers.
