Brazil to fight mosquitos using two Israeli technologies
Israeli startup Forrest Innovations is teaming up with Senecio to release Forrest-sterilized mosquitos using Senecios air distribution technology in Brazil. Forrest creates sterile mosquitos using RNA interference, while Senecio provides the delivery system with its slow-release cartridges. The collaboration aims to combat mosquito-borne diseases and reduce the burden on human health and the economy. Forrest has set up a Mobile Modular Mosquito Mass Production Unit in Brazil, and the project has support from various local organizations and government agencies. The partnership with Senecio will enable Forrest to use its systems in future commercial projects in Brazil.

Forrest Innovations Aims to Use RNAi to Combat Citrus Disease, Control Mosquitos
Forrest Innovations, a new company founded by one of the co-founders of Beeologics, is using gene-silencing technology to tackle citrus greening and mosquito-borne diseases. The company has two initiatives underway: Green Shield, which aims to stop citrus greening by targeting the plants immune response to infection, and NoMoreMos, which aims to control mosquito-transmitted diseases by downregulating genes in mosquitos. Forrest Innovations is not looking to license or sell off its technologies, but rather aims to develop and market its own products.

St. Louis Attracts Third Israeli Agtech Company in Seven Months
Israeli agtech company Forrest Innovations has selected St. Louis as its U.S. headquarters, marking the third success in seven months for BioSTLs initiative targeting Israeli companies for recruitment. Forrest Innovations focuses on reducing mosquito-carried disease and addressing a bacteria threatening the citrus industry. BioSTLs St. Louis-Israel Innovation Connection (SLIIC) initiative aims to establish a U.S. presence for Israeli ventures to access markets, capital, networks, and corporate partnerships. St. Louis offers a strong ecosystem in agtech, making it an attractive location for Israeli companies. Prior to Forrest Innovations, Kaiima Bio-Agritech and Evogene also established their U.S. base in St. Louis. BioSTLs SLIIC team matches Israeli companies with St. Louis resources and facilitates their relocation. Forrest Innovations will be located at BRDG Park on the campus of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center.

Forrest Innovations is working to address two major challenges in the outdoor environment: reducing mosquito-carried disease and overcoming a bacteria that is threatening the citrus industry’s existence. The company will be located at BRDG Park, a Wexford Science + Technology development on the campus of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center.
