FuGuSense, an Israeli company, has developed a wearable lifeguard device to prevent drowning. The device, called FuGuSense, is a wearable autonomous drowning prevention system that can be embedded in any swimsuit. It monitors vital signs and detects drowning in real-time, inflating an integrated airbag to save the drowning person. The invention addresses the instinctive drowning response (IDR) that prevents people from saving themselves, even if they have swimming skills.
