Israeli Ministry of Health Partners With GlobeKeeper for Voluntary Civilian Monitoring App
Israels Ministry of Health plans to launch a voluntary surveillance app developed by GlobeKeeper Tech Ltd. to monitor COVID-19 cases. The app will use location data to inform users if they were in close contact with a confirmed coronavirus patient. It will run anonymously and users can choose whether to report their exposure to the health ministry. The Supreme Court ruled against emergency regulations that allowed the police and Shin Bet to obtain information on coronavirus patients without a warrant. The court ordered the regulations to be overseen and approved by Knesset subcommittees or they will be nullified.

Tel Aviv University Backs Two Cybersecurity Startups
Tel Aviv Universitys venture arm, TAU Ventures, has invested $2 million in fake profile-identifying startup Cyabra and $1.5 million in encryption startup GlobeKeeper. Cyabra develops tools to identify fake news and social media profiles, while GlobeKeeper integrates military-grade security and encryption capabilities into civilian communication devices. The investments bring Cyabras total capital raised to $4 million.
