ImageSat International Secures $54.5M Deal for Space-Based Intelligence Analytics Services
Israeli company ImageSat International (ISI) has signed a $54.5 million contract to provide space-based intelligence analytics services for a key customer over three years. The services will be delivered through a cloud-based platform, using artificial intelligence-based analytics. The company will use its array of satellites, including the EROS C satellites and the RUNNER satellite, to provide these services. Noam Segal, CEO of ISI, stated that the transaction is one of the largest in the world for the provision of space-based intelligence analytics services.

Israel Aerospace launches EROS observation satellite
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) launched the EROS-C3 satellite using a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch-vehicle. The satellite is owned by ImageSat International and incorporates advanced technologies for high-resolution imaging. After launch, the satellite entered its planned orbit and began transmitting data. IAI engineers are conducting tests to validate its performance. FIMI will continue to control ISI after the deal is completed. ISI was founded 23 years ago by Israel Aerospace Industries and Elbit Systems Ltd. FIMI previously invested $40 million in ISI in 2017. FIMI is also raising $1.2 billion for its new FIMI 7 fund. The aviation sector, in which FIMI is exposed through its investments, has been heavily impacted by the pandemic.

FIMI to invest $40m for 53.6% of ImageSat
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) will retain 46.4% of satellite photography company ImageSat International (ISI), while FIMI Opportunity Funds will invest $40 million for a 53.6% stake. The deal is subject to approval from the Ministry of Defense and the Antitrust Authority. ISI plans to use the investment to purchase a new observation satellite, Eros 3, from IAI. The collaboration between IAI and FIMI is expected to drive growth for ISI in the space industry. IAIs CEO emphasized the companys strategy to prioritize investments for innovation and technological entrepreneurship. ISIs main customers are governments of non-hostile sovereign countries, and the company offers high-resolution satellite photographs and data analysis. Following the investment, ISI will launch a third satellite, Eros C, which will provide full-color output.
