Immue discovers new exploitation of Apple's private relay
Israel-based cybersecurity company Immue has identified vulnerabilities in Apples iCloud Private Relay, which could allow threat actors to launch untraceable attacks. Immue detected attacks coming from IPs associated with Apple, Akamai, and Cloudflare servers. Apples private relay technology, introduced in 2021, allows users to browse securely without being tracked. However, Immue found that attackers were using the private relay to mask their IPs and launch attacks. Immue recommends that fraud detection systems relying on IP addresses be updated.
