Israeli company Olive X-Press is preparing to launch a countertop olive oil production appliance. The device allows consumers to transform 3 kilograms of olives into olive oil at home in 45 minutes. The companys CEO, Nir Padan, said the biggest challenge was combining the three main steps of olive oil production into a countertop appliance. The company also plans to make most of its revenue from selling vacuum-packaged olives to transform in the appliance. The prototype will undergo rigorous testing and should be ready for a limited market introduction before the 2024 olive harvest. The company has already raised $3.5 million for the project.

Countertop Olive Oil Cold Press Hits Crowdfunding Goal
A new company called Olive X-Press from Israel has developed a device that can produce fresh olive oil at home. The device, roughly the size of a blender, uses a cold press to turn olives into olive oil in 45 minutes. Olive X-Press has raised $386,000 on the Israeli investor platform ExitValley, in addition to a $1.5 million early seed investment. The company plans to make money through device sales to consumers and small businesses, as well as a subscription service for fresh olives. The target price for the Olive X-Press is $299, with bags of olives costing $7 - $10 each. Olive X-Press holds three patents for the device and plans to go into commercial production in 2019.
