Phoebus Energy is developing advanced heat pumps that efficiently utilize the unused thermal energy both discharged from existing air-conditioning systems and found in atmospheric air to produce additional energy used for heating and cooling water. The company's solution connects to a cloud-based control and monitoring system that collects energy usage data every 60 seconds. Intelligent algorithms then process the real-time and historical data in order to decide how to generate the required energy at the lowest possible cost. The company's solution has been successfully deployed in more than 100 facilities worldwide, including in prominent hotel chains such as Sheraton, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn.

Phoebus Energy to cut Fattal Hotels costs

Israeli energy startup Phoebus Energy has signed an agreement with Fattal Hotels to install a smart energy-saving system in nine hotels in Israel. The system, developed by Phoebus Energy, will save 50-75% on heating and air-conditioning costs and reduce pollution. The Fattal chain is expected to save NIS 40 million over the next decade. The system is controlled by cloud computing software and is currently being piloted at a large international hotel chain in Spain. Phoebus Energy has received investments totaling $7 million to date, including from Terra Venture Partners.

Greener heating for hotels and hospitals

Israeli company Phoebus Energy has developed a hybrid water-heating system that can save hundreds of thousands of dollars a year on heating costs for large facilities. The system, called Hydra, improves efficiency by up to 70% and integrates existing heating systems with a heat pump farm. Phoebus has 36 installations in Israel and is expanding into markets in Greece, Mexico, Cyprus, Spain, Panama, and Bulgaria. The company has been funded with $4.5 million by Terra Venture Partners, the Galilaea Group, and Chesapeake Advisory Group. Phoebus is also planning to launch a new product called Hydra Balance, which will integrate with air-conditioning units.
