AnyBook and RealBook are two new Israeli startups aiming to revolutionize the book lending industry. AnyBook, also known as the social library, allows users to lend books to each other via an app. The app uses location data to find nearby books and also sends reminders for book returns. AnyBook was founded by Gal Darom and Eliran Navon and has raised several million shekels from unnamed high-tech investors. RealBook, set to launch in October, offers book lending with a uniform delivery price and royalties for authors for each book lent. RealBook was founded by couple Efrat and Nadav Bronstein with an initial investment of 250,000 shekels.
