Slim.ai, a startup aiming to commercialize the DockerSlim open-source project, announced a $6.6 million seed round investment from Boldstart Ventures, Decibel Partners, FXP Ventures, and TechAviv Founder Partners. The company, co-founded by John Amaral and Kyle Quest, seeks to simplify containerization for developers by building a commercial product on top of DockerSlim. The project initially started in 2015 to optimize container images and has since expanded to cover various aspects of the DevOps lifecycle. Slim.ai is currently a small team of 15, focusing on building a diverse and inclusive company culture. The commercial product is still in development, with plans to launch later this year.
