What does Applied CleanTech do?
Applied CleanTech (ACT) provides municipalities and industrial wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) with recycling technology for pretreating wastewater in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly manner. ACTs proprietary Sewage Recycling System (SRS) recycles sewage solids, changing both the treatment and the perception of sewage by using an advanced sewage-mining technology that produces a valuable commodity: Recyllose (recycled cellulose). This material serves a variety of applications in various industries and significantly reduces the formation of sludge. The company pretreats wastewater in its early stages, automatically producing the revenue-generating Recyllose and reducing sludge formation by up to 50%. The SRS also reduces operational costs and energy consumption by up to 30%; increases WWTP capacity by up to 30%; and reduces greenhouse gas emissions, gaining carbon credits. The SRS has been successfully deployed on a global scale and is currently being used in Mexico, Canada, Israel, Scotland, France, and the Netherlands.
