ECBF

The European Circular Bioeconomy Fund (ECBF) is the first venture fund exclusively dedicated to the (circular) bioeconomy. The fund invests in visionary European entrepreneurs who are driving the shift from a fossil-based to a bio-based economy. ECBF aims to catalyze the transition towards a sustainable future by investing in biobased and circular growth-stage companies with high potential for innovation, favorable returns, and sustainable impact. As a growth-stage venture capital fund, the fund syndicates with private and public investors to bring circular technologies and bio-products to market, offering flexible financing tools from equity to mezzanine. The targeted main investment sectors are ag-tech, food-tech, biomaterials, and industrial biotechnology (incl. bio-chemicals), which have applications in a broad range of end markets such as nutrition, packaging, construction, textiles, and personal care. ECBF refrains from investing in bio-energy and pharma. In Israel, the VC focuses in investing in the Agtech and Foodtech sector.
