Dr. Shimon Eckhouse

Dr. Shimon Eckhouse is an inventor, investor and active entrepreneur in the field of medical devices and medical technology. He is a Founder, Co-Founder and investor in more than 20 companies in medical technology and other high-tech areas. He is The inventor of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology, the most popular non-invasive energy based technology for a broad range of non-invasive medical aesthetic applications. In addition, Mr. Eckhouse is the author of more than 60 US-registered patents and a few hundred international patents and author of more than 50 papers in leading refereed journals and conferences. He is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Technion Israeli Institute of Technology. Dr. Eckhouse is currently the Founder, owner and Chairman of Alon Medtech incubator in Israel which is investing in early-stage start-ups in health care technologies and is part of the Israeli Innovation Authority incubator program. Alons current portfolio consists of 16 medical technology companies in fields such as cardiology, digital and personalized medicine, aesthetic medicine and minimally invasive surgery. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California at Irvine and a B.Sc. in Physics from the Technion Israeli Institute of Technology.
