Nokia Networks is a data networking and telecommunications equipment company. Among Nokia's subsidiaries are Alcatel-Lucent, Withings, Nokia Networks, Nokia Siemens Networks, and Bell Labs. In Israel, Nokia has a large global development center for Cloudband, Nokia's cloud division; a branch of the famous Bell laboratories; and a team working on special projects. The Israel branch of Nokia Bell Labswas formed in 2014 and focuses on helping customers apply network function virtualization to create a simplified, agile, and efficient operating model for meeting networking demands. The local Bell Labs team leads research in the field of distributed cloud networking, where cloud and SDN technologies are used to virtualize services once deployed over dedicated hardware.
