Phoenician Energy is focused on facilitating the expansion of clean energy for marine-related systems by developing and providing electrical energy sources that overcome the limitations of Li-ion battery technology in ships. These limitations include price, weight, volume, safety considerations, and a finite lifecycle. The companys first product is an adaptation of Aluminumair battery technology originally developed by the Israeli company Phinergy Ltd for stationary installations and mass transport land vehicles. This innovative technology is ideal for marine applications because it has a much higher capacity per volume and weight than Li-ion, is inherently safe, costs significantly less per kWh, and does not degrade when not in use. Phoenician Energy is adapting the Aluminumair battery system to marine applications under exclusive license and will market and support the product in the various marine segments.
