Sensible Medical Innovations has developed the ReDS medical radar technology, which originated from the defense industrys see through walls technology. ReDS is designed to monitor and manage patients with fluid management problems, including patients living with heart failure (HF), taking diuretic medication, or recovering from an event related to coronary artery disease. ReDS is intended for use by qualified healthcare practitioners and by patients under the direction of a physician in hospitals, hospital-type facilities, and the home environment. In a pilot study, ReDS-guided HF management reduced the number of HF-related rehospitalizations by approximately 80%. In August 2015, Sensible Medicals noninvasive thoracic fluid status monitor was cleared for market in the United States.
