About
VitalMiner is an advanced analytic patient monitoring platform capable of early detection and prediction of clinical deterioration in patients at high risk due to injury or medical illness. The system provides alerts well before changes appear in the monitored parameters of current patient monitors to save lives, reduce hospital costs, and contribute to better patient outcomes, faster recovery, and shorter hospital stays. VitalMiner synthesizes patient vital signs and translates them into meaningful information that can help care providers identify which patients are most at risk at any given moment and allocate resources accordingly. The system can be used in emergency rooms, intensive care transports, home intensive-care services, and military hospitals. The software connects to existing vital signs monitors as well as the ICUs clinical information system. VitalMiner was developed by Prof. Mark Last from the Department of Software and Information Systems Engineering at Ben-Gurion University in collaboration with Prof. Victor F. Garcia from Cincinnati Childrens Hospital and pediatric surgeon Prof. Raphael Udassin at Hadassah Medical Center. Ben-Gurion Universitys technology transfer unit is now seeking a partner to help further develop and commercialize the technology.
