Wire Machine Technologies (WMT) has developed and patented a technology for the production of glass-coated micro wires. This technology enables continuous production of micro wires with diameters ranging from 5 to 75 microns. WMT has partnered with other companies to develop specific applications that use glass-coated and uncoated micro wires. Fine and micro wires have uses in a wide range of industries and applications including electronics, cabling, medical/health, security, aviation, and military. In one application, tiny magnetic wires were embedded in hotel towels, and a detector issued an alert if someone attempted to leave with the towels.
