Microchip, a major supplier of electronic components, has acquired Sotal, its exclusive representative in Israel. Following the acquisition, Sotal ceased to operate as an independent company and now functions as Microchip Israel. Avidan Perry, the former owner of Sotal, has been appointed as the CEO of Microchip Israel. The company plans to expand by hiring an applications engineer to support local customers. This acquisition is part of Microchips strategy to deepen its presence in the Israeli market. Microchip is a significant player in the electronics industry, providing various components and employing around 8,000 people. It is publicly traded on NASDAQ with a market valuation of approximately $7.8 billion.
