Israeli company could clear world's minefields in just 10 years
Israeli startup 4M Analytics is developing a minefield-location intelligence solution that deploys machine-learning technologies and software-guided robots for mine clearing. The company aims to reduce the risks, costs, and casualties associated with manual demining. By predicting the precise positions of explosive remnants of war (ERW), 4M Analytics can reduce the size of suspected minefields by approximately 80%. The company estimates that it could bring down ERW clearing costs from $4-$8 per square meter to $1.76 per square meter, and clear landmines from affected countries in just 10 years at an estimated cost of $60 million. 4M Analytics envisions working with global corporate partners to invest the money saved by its system back into humanitarian projects in affected countries.
