Israeli company AGEERA has unveiled a lithium-ion battery-based energy storage facility. The new project, installed in Kfar Masaryk Kibbutz, was established in partnership with the kibbutz and received half a million shekels in support from the Chief Scientist at the Ministry of Energy and funding from Bank Leumi. AGEERAs system allows for better utilization of renewable energy sources, provides backup during power outages, improves supply reliability, and shifts electrical loads. The new project includes lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 3.1 megawatt-hours, expandable to 16 megawatt-hours.
