AGT International and Cellcom plan to bring the smart city concept to Israel through various IoT projects. The partnership with Cellcom will allow AGT to embed its capabilities in Israeli cities using Cellcoms communications infrastructure and experience. The companies will create projects in Israeli cities that include applications such as monitoring city lighting, advanced waste management systems, pollution reduction, and smart irrigation systems. The partnership aims to improve the quality of life in Israel through IoT connections. The specific cities that will receive the technologies have not been disclosed.

AGT leases Herzliya offices for IoT development center
AGT International is replacing Apple as a tenant in the Beit Amtzur building. AGT has rented 4,000 sq.m. of offices in the building and will pay NIS 73 per sq.m. per month. Apple previously rented the space for Anobit, an Israeli startup it acquired for $400 million in 2011.

Mati Kochavi's Logic to shut down with 270 layoffs
Logic Industries, a company belonging to AGT Group, is completing its last project for a Persian Gulf country and will shut down at the end of 2015. The company will lay off its 270 employees following the completion of the project, with the layoffs to be completed by the end of the year. The laid-off employees will receive increased severance pay totaling NIS 25 million. Some R&D employees will be transferred to a new company within the AGT group, which will be headed by Logics chairman and CEO, Amos Malka.
