Airspan Networks Overview
Airspan Network Inc. is a 4G/5G RAN hardware and software vendor, as well as a Fixed Wireless network densification solution provider, with an expansive portfolio of indoor and outdoor products. Airspan Networks Ltd (Airspan Israel) is one of the main R&D centers of Airspan. It was opened in Israel in 2002 after the acquisition of the foreign R&D center Marconi Communications (Israel) Limited, which developed broadband wireless access systems. In 2005, Arelnet, which developed voice-over-IP network infrastructure equipment and solutions, was purchased by Airspan and later merged with Airspan Israel.

UK's Marconi sells Israeli wireless unit to Airspan Networks
Florida-based Airspan Networks is acquiring Marconi Communications (Israel) Limited for $3 million in cash. The acquisition will expand Airspans reach and reinforce its leadership in the international fixed-wireless access marketplace. Marconi Communications develops broadband wireless access systems known as Wireless Internet Protocol Local Loop (WipLL). The deal is subject to final approvals by Israeli government authorities. Airspan expects the purchase to immediately contribute to its operating results. The WipLL product has been shipped to 18 operators in 12 countries, with subscribers including SpeedNet Inc. of Japan.
