Dental imaging co Cadent bought for $190m

Align Technologies has acquired Cadent Holdings for $190 million in cash. The acquisition is expected to reduce Aligns GAAP-based earnings per share in fiscal 2011 but contribute to its net profit in fiscal 2012. Cadent develops 3D digital scanning solutions for orthodontics and dentistry and has raised $75 million since its founding in 1995. The cooperation agreement between Cadent and Align to develop Invisalign software applications was signed on January 2. Cadents R&D center in Or Yehuda employs 70 of its 250 employees.
