The technology, which is being tested at Rambam Hospital, uses a sweat suit to stimulate the bodys natural sweat mechanism, reducing the level of stress hormones in the heart. Initial findings from the ongoing study indicate a 30-50% decrease in stress hormone levels. The suit, which is worn for several hours at a time, has been used in severe cases where patients are hospitalized due to heart failure with fluid accumulation.
