Savings of 1.4 million cubic meters of water through acoustic leak detection project in Italy
Aquarius Spectrum, a provider of acoustic monitoring and leak detection solutions, has partnered with A2A Ciclo Idrico, a subsidiary of Italys largest multi-utility A2A S.p.A, to reduce water losses and energy costs. A pilot test of Aquarius Spectrums Continuous Correlating Acoustic Monitoring (CCAM) system was conducted in 2019, with the installation of 39 belowground acoustic sensors covering approximately 15 km of pipe. The successful pilot led to a full-scale program using the Aquarius Spectrum system. During the study period, a total of 170 leaks were detected, saving an estimated 1.4 million cubic meters of water per year and reducing GHG emissions by 504,000 kg per year.

Aquarius Spectrum specializes in automatic monitoring and leak detection solutions in urban water networks.
