Aspect Ventures, founded by Theresia Gouw and Jennifer Fonstad, is splitting up

Aspect Ventures, a San Francisco-based venture firm, is splitting up as co-founders Jennifer Fonstad and Theresia Gouw launch separate firms. Fonstad will operate under the brand Owl Capital, while Gouws new firm is called aCrew. Some members of Aspects team will join Gouw at aCrew, while others will join Fonstad at Owl Capital. Aspect had previously raised $150 million for its debut fund and a second $181 million fund. Gouws aCrew is targeting $175 million for its debut fund, while Owl Capital is aiming for $125 million in capital commitments. The split is attributed to different leadership styles and ways of operating at the portfolio level.
