Works to start on Gozo reverse osmosis and 'new water' network for south of Malta

The Water Services Corporation has awarded a tender for the development of a reverse osmosis in Gozo, along with a €10 million tender for water distribution. Both projects are part of an EU-funded €130 million project. The reverse osmosis was awarded to Israeli firm AST Clean Water Technologies for €11 million. The project aims to provide Gozo with a secure supply of high-quality water and improve the sustainability of the islands water table. The water distribution project will provide treated sewage water for re-use in agriculture. The Water Services Corporation aims to offer a viable, high-quality alternative to groundwater abstraction.
