Astronautics C.A. develops and supplies high-tech airborne, land, and naval defense systems worldwide. Its products are battle proven and complement its parent company's extensive offerings to ensure battlefield superiority. The company's airborne solutions for fixed and rotary-wing platforms include advanced computers and displays, video/data multiplexers, engine data concentrators, electronic flight bags, digital maps, tactical mission systems, EICAS, and other avionics consoles and systems. Its land systems include advanced navigation and pointing systems for mortars, multi-launch rocket systems, self-propelled guns, and towed guns; digital fire-control systems for artillery; navigation systems for all types of transport and armored vehicles; and navigation and target acquisition systems for artillery observation crews. Astronautics naval systems include advanced navigation systems and command and control consoles for maritime applications. The company includes among its clients the Israel Defense Forces. Astronautics C.A. is a subsidiary of Astronautics Corporation of America.

Defense Ministry to shell out NIS 1.5 billion on gas field security ships

The Israeli Defense Ministry has announced a NIS 1.5 billion ($420 million) deal to purchase maritime systems for the Israeli Navy. The systems will be used to protect the countrys gas fields and shipping lanes. The deal includes missile defense batteries, electronic warfare, navigation systems, command and control centers, and communication gear. Israeli defense contractors will supply all of the systems. The purchase of the systems is part of a multi-year plan to protect Israels gas fields. The Israeli Navy has had to restructure and re-outfit itself to defend the gas fields, which are located approximately 100 kilometers off the shore.
