Avery Dennison Corporation has invested in Gauzy, an Israeli-based developer and manufacturer of liquid-crystal-based materials, films, applications and solutions. Gauzy has commercialized several smart glass products, including a switchable window film that can alternate from clear to frosted. Avery Dennison’s Hanita business division has established an agreement with Gauzy to collaborate on the development and marketing of a retrofit version of Gauzy’s switchable window film. The two companies anticipate further product opportunities will emerge from their collaborative efforts in the automotive industry.

Avery Dennison to pay $75m for Israeli coatings co Hanita
Avery Dennison Corporation has agreed to acquire Hanita, a manufacturer of specialty films and laminates, for $75 million. Hanita, which is based in Israel, develops and manufactures coated, laminated, and metallized polyester films for a range of industrial and commercial applications. The companys products are used in architecture, automotive aftermarkets, durable labels, and insulation systems. Hanita CEO Oved Shapira said the acquisition was a great opportunity for Hanita to realise its full potential.
