Israeli Researcher Invents Devices Allowing Blind People to "See" Via Vibrations, Sounds
RenewSenses, a pre-startup based on Prof. Amir Amedis research at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is preparing to commercialize two groundbreaking inventions: EyeCane and EyeMusic. EyeCane is an orientation device that translates distance into auditory and tactile cues, while EyeMusic is an app and mini-camera system that conveys visual information through soundscapes. RenewSenses aims to provide blind individuals with unprecedented self-navigation capabilities. The company has entered the Brainnovations accelerator program to develop a business model and access funding. RenewSenses plans to release the initial version of EyeCane within three or four months of raising production funds. The company is also seeking to hire a production manager and sales/marketing manager.
