Former NBA player Omri Casspi has invested in Israeli startup Boards $6.5 million funding round. Boards is a marketing platform that offers a content management system for sales and marketing managers and a mobile app for field agents. Casspi, who recently retired from professional basketball, is using his fortune to invest in early-stage startups. The funding round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners and also saw participation from Global Founders Capital. Casspis connection to the social media world and influencers in the U.S. was seen as valuable for Boards. The company has shifted its focus from being a second income channel to serving sales and marketing managers of existing businesses.
