Bright Security Overview

Bright provide an enterprise-grade developer-centric enterprise DAST solution. We scan applications and APIs from the outside-in, mimicking how a hacker would approach the application, and automatically tests for vulnerabilities that bad actors could use to exploit. Unlike legacy DAST tools which were designed exclusively for expert security users after the application is already in production, Bright’s tool was built to be “developer-first”. It was designed to empower developers to create more secure applications and APIs starting in early development phases and across all stages leading up to and including production so that vulnerabilities are caught and remediated as early as possible. Scans can start as early as the Unit Testing phase in the SDLC and progress from there to find as many vulnerabilities as possible early in the development lifecycle. Remediating vulnerabilities early saves significant developer time and reduces risk. We invested a lot to make sure the solution is both developer and AppSec friendly and have unique capabilities including quick setup, minimal false positives, developer focused remediation suggestions, the ability to run the solution from a UI, or CLI, Seamless integration with the developer toolchain, Etc.

NeuraLegion becomes Bright Security and raises $20M Series A

NeuraLegion, now known as Bright Security, has raised $20 million in a Series A funding round led by Evolution Equity Partners. The company focuses on dynamic application security testing and identifying business logic issues. It has shifted its focus to dynamic application security testing and has no plans to branch out into related fields. The companys tools are designed to be easy to use and integrate with existing CI/CD pipelines. The name change reflects the companys goal of providing illumination and guidance in the field of security testing. Karthik Subramanian from Evolution Equity Partners will join Bright Securitys board.

Application security platform NeuraLegion raises $4.7 million seed led by DNX Ventures

NeuraLegion, an application security platform, has raised a $4.7 million seed round led by DNX Ventures. The funding will be used to support the launch of a new self-serve, community version of their platform. NeuraLegion differentiates itself by focusing on developers, quality assurance, and DevOps workers, allowing scans to be run earlier in the development process. The company views Invicti Security and WhiteHat Security as its closest competitors. NeuraLegions platform is now used by thousands of developers, and the self-serve version aims to make their solutions more accessible.
