Presenting Israeli entrepreneurs' latest innovation success story: the all-weather street piano
Cadenza, a start-up headed by Dr. Dan Kaufman, has developed the worlds first street piano made out of concrete. The piano has passed its primary tests and is ready to be placed on the streets of Israel. It is weather-resistant and sturdy enough to withstand vandalism. The project received a grant of NIS 400,000 from the Israeli Innovation Authority to encourage student innovation. Cadenza aims to draw curiosity from all walks of life and hopes to connect people through music. After the success of the prototype, more pianos will be stationed throughout Israel, and there is interest from parties around the world. Cadenza envisions the street piano as Israels next new export industry.

Social piano experiment has Jerusalem passersby keyed up
Cadenza Piano, a company created by two Israeli entrepreneurs, has launched a piano experiment in Jerusalem. The company aims to see the effect of placing a grand piano in a public space. The piano is available for impromptu performances from 10 am to 11 pm, except during the 25-hour period of Shabbat. Cadenza Piano plans to sell the treated concrete-encased instruments to municipalities and institutions worldwide. The current piano is a trial run launched by the Jerusalem municipalitys development company. The company hopes to eventually run the piano on solar power. Cadenza Piano is one of three public music projects in downtown Jerusalem. The experiment has had positive impacts, including Palestinians playing Israels national anthem and a former pianist for John Lennon stopping to play.
