Israeli Carsharing Company Car2Go Expands to Europe
Car2Go, a car-sharing company, plans to expand its service to cities throughout Europe through its subsidiary GoTo Mobility. GoTo will offer short and medium-term rentals of electric vehicles, motorized scooters, dockless electric scooters, and bicycles through a single app. The companys parent company, Shagrir Group Vehicle Services, intends to roll out thousands of each type of vehicle during the European expansion. Car2Gos current activities in Europe are limited to Malta, where it has been operating since 2017. In partnership with Groupe Renault, Car2Go has launched a fleet of 150 electric Renault vehicles for local car-sharing use in Malta.

CAR2GO, the first Israeli car sharing company, has officially launched operations in Tel Aviv. The company aims to have 100 cars, 80 parking spots, and 3,000 members by 2010. CAR2GO offers hourly usage for car rentals, with fees charged by the hour and kilometer. The company currently has 25 cars, 30 parking spots, and 1,000 members. It plans to expand to other cities in the future. The car sharing market in Israel has the potential to reach 70,000-105,000 members according to market research. CAR2GOs business plan is based on having 26,000 members in the first five years. The company faces competition from US-based car share companies Zipcar and Flexcar.
