Ceva jumps on record results and guidance
Ceva Inc., an Israeli mobile chip designer, has seen a nearly 10% increase in its share price on Nasdaq after reporting a steep rise in its share of the LTE smartphone market. The companys second quarter revenue increased by 28% compared to the same quarter in 2015, and its royalty revenue increased by 69%. Ceva projects third quarter revenue of $17.2-$18.2 million and expects annual royalties to grow by 35-45%. The companys market share in the LTE smartphone market increased from 5% to 19% in the second quarter of 2016.

Israel's Ceva expands into growing market for auto safety chips
Israeli chip designer Ceva Inc is targeting the growing market for automotive safety technology to diversify beyond processors used in mobile phones. The company already licenses its designs to chipmakers such as Intel and Samsung, and wants to develop its vision technology for ADAS purposes. Research firm IHS forecasts ADAS chip and sensor revenue to reach $4 billion by 2020. Cevas platform has secured the ISO 26262 safety standard and the company has landed its first client in the automotive market. Cevas CEO, Gideon Wertheizer, said that royalties for ADAS chips will be significantly higher than for smartphones, but it will take time for the company to build up a significant business in this area.

Ceva seen poised for share of ADAS market
Wunderlich Securities has issued a positive assessment of Ceva Inc.s chances of winning a share of the market for technology supporting advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Ceva has announced ISO 26262 compliance, positioning the company as a solution-enabling supplier alongside Mobileye and NXP. The company expects its XM4 cores to carry a mid-to-high single digit royalty dollar value per core.
