Clarivate Overview

Clarivate is an analytics company that operates a collection of subscription-based services, in the areas of bibliometrics and scientometrics; business & market intelligence, and competitive profiling for pharmacy and biotech, patents, and regulatory compliance. Clarivate began as Thompson Scientific, the Intellectual Property and Science division of Thomson Reuters. In 2016, it was sold to private private-equity firms and spun off as an independent company. Ex Libris, formerly a ProQuest company, is an Israeli provider of library automation solutions, is Clarivate's local R&D and customer success center. Ex Libris designs efficient, user-friendly products that serve the needs of academic, research, and national libraries. Today, Ex Libris's solutions are being used by over 5,000 establishments worldwide.

Clarivate appoints former ProQuest CEO Matti Shem Tov as the company's next CEO

Clarivate Plc, a global provider of transformative intelligence, has announced the appointment of Matti Shem Tov as the companys new CEO, effective from August 9, 2024. Shem Tov, former CEO of ProQuest, will also join the companys board of directors. The current CEO, Jonathan Gear, will step down from his role and transition into a non-executive role until November 1, 2024. The leadership change comes as Clarivate aims to enter a new phase of value creation and organic growth.
