Ethereum, the worlds second largest blockchain platform, has acquired hundreds of thousands of users worldwide in the four years that it has been in business. However, with Facebooks announcement that it will enter the sector and the increased competition in the market, it is not clear whether Ethereum will maintain its lead in the blockchain industry. ConsenSys, the worlds largest blockchain company, whose activity is based on Ethereum, recently held a gathering to discuss this question. ConsenSys is structured like a conglomerate; it is a group of private companies under the same ownership with different activities in the same sector. All of the companies activities are based on the Ethereum platform.

ConsenSys takes on Israel
ConsenSys, one of the worlds largest blockchain companies, is planning to expand its business to additional places around the world, including Israel. The company, founded by Joseph Lubin in New York in 2015, focuses on the development of applications based on Ethereums technology. Lubins investment in Ethereum when the company was just starting out must have been worthwhile, judging by the list of cryptocurrency tycoons published by Forbes in February, which listed him in second place after Ripple founder Chris Larsen. Forbes estimated Lubins personal wealth, based on his digital currency holdings, at $1-5 billion.
