Flex tests In-line detection of Counterfeit Components - Israel Electronics News
Tel Aviv-based Cybord has developed a technology that uses artificial intelligence to detect counterfeit components on the production line. The technology is currently being tested at Flex Israels plant in Ofakim, with another pilot likely to be carried out at Flexs plant in Migdal Haemek. Cybords technology connects to the placement machine software, extracts images of each component as they are produced, and examines them using an AI algorithm. The algorithm identifies vital data such as the manufacturer identity, date of manufacture, and more. It can also detect whether the component is counterfeit, in which case the machine will discard the component or halt the production line.
