Innovation Authority and Ministry of Communications grant five startups NIS 12.5 million for 5G pilots
The Israel Innovation Authority and the Ministry of Communications have selected five Israeli startups to receive funding for conducting pilots using 5G technology. Monogoto will deploy a private 5G network at ICL’s Dead Sea Works and Mekorot, Telicomm City Connect will stream video from smart city cameras, Elbit C4I and Cyber Systems will develop communication technologies for medical centers, Edgehawk Security will test advanced security solutions, and JpU will experiment with a 5G system. The companies will receive financial support for their R&D expenditure, with additional grants for projects in areas of national priority. The deployment of advanced broadband communication infrastructure is expected to have a positive impact on Israels GDP and productivity.
