An Israeli startup wants to develop the "next generation" of electric vehicle batteries

Israeli startup EEXION has developed a new battery technology that promises improvements in energy cost, safety, and recycling for electric vehicles. The company claims that its batteries, which use carbon electrodes enriched through chemical manipulation, can withstand over 30,000 charge cycles without significant loss of capacity. The batteries can also be recycled into coal, unlike lithium batteries which have complex and expensive recycling processes. EEXIONs technology allows for fast full charging, with the ability to fully charge a battery within 5 minutes without affecting its performance or capacity. The company has raised $2 million in a seed round led by Capital Nature, with participation from 4WARD VC, Climate Capital Collective, European angels, and ESIL.
