In 2018, One Equity Partners has acquired Ericsson's video and TV division and renamed it MediaKind. MediaKind founded an R&D on the basis of Ericsson Israel. Ericsson Israel was established in 1997, and its R&D center was opened in 2014 with the acquisition ofFabrix Systems, acloud-based video specialist. It allowedEricsson to help operators shift all DVR functions from the home to the cloud. Today known as MediaKind Israel, it extends the company's overall position in TV and media solutions.

Ericsson Israel to Launch Operations January '97

Ericsson will bid in the Ministry of Communications tender for Israels third cellular network operator. Ericsson Israel will begin operations in 1997 and has signed a representation agreement with Epsilon Communications. Ericsson is also negotiating with local firms for software acquisitions. The company is competing in Bezeq switching tenders and is in advanced negotiations with Golden Lines and the Barak group. Ericsson is entering the Israeli market with fanfare and will exhibit cellular communications systems at an exhibition in Tel Aviv.
