EtherWaves Expands Digital Radio Choice - Adds Support for Tensilica Dataplane Processor Cores
EtherWaves and SoCand Tensilica announced the expansion of the ClearSignal software-based DAB/DMB solution by porting to Tensilicas Xtensa dataplane processor architecture. This allows for the addition of Digital Radio capability to mobile devices with low power consumption. The new version supports broadcasting standards such as DAB, DAB+, T-DMB, DRM, and DRM+. EtherWaves CEO, Ben Gagin, stated that the successful porting to Tensilicas core aligns with their strategy of supporting leading chip architectures. Tensilicas senior director of multimedia marketing, Larry Przywara, expressed excitement about contributing to the rapid development of EtherWaves multi-standard solution. The new ClearSignal version is available for licensing from EtherWaves.
