The US Army's new camouflage will hide soldiers and tanks in plain sight - wherever they are
Fibrotex, a military technology company, has been awarded a contract by the US Army to supply its Ultra-Light Camouflage Netting System. The system is designed to conceal soldiers, vehicles, and installations from electro-optical sensors and radars. It provides protection against night vision, thermal imaging, radar, and more. The contract is valued at $480 million and will span 10 years. Full-scale production will begin next year, creating hundreds of new jobs at Fibrotexs manufacturing facility in Kentucky. The new camouflage technology aims to replace outdated systems that only protect soldiers in the visible spectrum. Fibrotexs solution offers improved performance against advanced sensors, making soldiers undetectable to the enemy.
